The Head of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, during a working trip, visited border units that are carrying out tasks in the area of hostilities on the Avdiivka direction.

On-site, he assessed the situation and visited positions of one of the rapid response border commandants. Its military personnel, currently as part of the Defense Forces, are actively engaged in combat in this challenging front line.

Serhii Deineko listened to on-site commanders and discussed the level of cooperation with other units fighting alongside the border guards. The border guards noted that the enemy continues constant shelling with mortars and artillery, actively uses aviation with guided aviation bombs, and persists in assault actions.

Together with the leaders, they analyzed needs and conducted an assessment of actions to enhance capabilities for enemy destruction, including the involvement of additional specialized units of the State Border Guard Service. Emphasis was also placed on all possible measures to preserve the lives of border guards.

"Your rapid response border command is a very powerful unit that resiliently opposes the enemy. You defend our independence and territorial integrity. This is already your second rotation on this front, and you have honorably carried out and continue to fulfill your assigned tasks. You are an example for other units," noted the Head of the State Border Guard Service.

He added that, according to the military command, Avdiivka has always held, including thanks to the efforts and heroism of the border guards. The head of the border agency thanked the defenders and presented awards and firearms for their demonstrated heroism.

"On a personal note, on behalf of the Minister of Internal Affairs, on behalf of the President of Ukraine, I sincerely want to thank you – for being real, for being strong. You are true titans. What you do, how you defend Ukraine – it's incredible," said Serhii Deineko.
